Apurva Building is one of those spots in Deccan that you might easily miss if you aren't looking for it. We are up here on the 579 stretch, and being in this part of Pune means there is always something happening right outside the window. It’s a bit different from the quieter suburbs because the noise of the city is always there. Our office is a bit cramped with all the papers and equipment, but it works for what we do. The elevator sometimes has a mind of its own, so many of us just take the stairs to stay moving and save time. Engineering is a lot of sitting at desks anyway, so the walk up doesn't really hurt. We’ve been operating out of this building for some time now. It feels like an old friend. The desks are a bit scratched up and the tea guy knows exactly how everyone likes their drink. We aren't trying to impress anyone with glass walls or modern art. It’s just a place where we figure out technical problems and talk to the clients who stop by. Sometimes the rain hits the windows hard during the monsoon, and we just keep the lights on and keep working. It’s a solid place to be. Living and working in Deccan has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a small part of that daily flow over the years. It's just a regular engineering office in a busy building.
