K & K Engineering

K & K Engineering has been situated here in Dhayari for a good bit now. Our address is 28-2-3, which isn't always the easiest to explain to people over the phone, but we manage. The shop is usually full of metal pieces and the smell of grease. It's a small team of us working here. We start the day early before the sun gets too strong because the roof is metal and it can get stuffy inside. Most of our time is spent looking at drawings or just getting the machines set up for the next run. We don't really have a front desk, if you walk in, you'll probably find one of us with grease on our hands. The neighbors are mostly other small workshops, so there is a lot of hammering and clanking going on all day long. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It's not a fancy life, but we like the work. We've got a couple of old machines that still work better than the newer ones we bought recently. We just keep our heads down and do the work that’s needed. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, but we put a bucket there and it’s fine. We know most of the people on this street by now. It is a quiet place when the machines are off.
