Kay Confectioners

Kay Confectioners is our little shop over on Camp Baner Mahalunge Road, at house 877. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but the locals know where we are. We spend most of our time around ovens and flour. Baking isn't always pretty; there’s a lot of heavy lifting and cleaning up spills. We make things that we’ve been making for years now. Nothing too experimental, just the stuff people expect when they walk through the door. The smell of sugar is stuck in our clothes even after we go home. We’ve got a few shelves with sweets and snacks that we bag up ourselves. Sometimes the delivery guy is late with the butter, and we have to scramble, but that’s just part of it. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing person. It’s just us and the regulars who come in for their weekly treats. The floor is a bit worn down from people standing in line, but we think it gives the place some character. We try to keep the prices fair so everyone in the neighborhood can stop by. It’s a lot of early mornings and late nights, but it keeps us busy and we don't mind the work. We just like making sweets and seeing people enjoy them on their way home. It’s a simple way to spend our days and we hope the food is okay.
