Kalantry Food Products

If you ever come down to the Market Yard, you’ll find us at D-22. Kalantry Food Products has been in this spot for a long time. The Market Yard is a hectic place, especially in the early morning when all the trucks are coming in. We are usually here before the sun is even up, getting things ready for the day. It’s a bit of a dusty environment with all the sacks of grain and food products moving around, but that’s the nature of the business. We don’t have a polished front office with a receptionist. Usually, you’ll just find one of us sitting at a wooden desk covered in ledgers and old invoices. We deal with a lot of different food items, and the inventory is always changing depending on the season. Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of everything, but we manage. The people working here are like family; we’ve seen each other’s kids grow up. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing. If a customer has a problem, they just come in and talk to us directly over a cup of tea. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business. We aren't looking to expand into some giant empire; we just want to keep doing what we know. The noise of the yard can be a lot, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We mostly deal with wholesalers and regular shop owners who have been coming to D-22 for decades. It's nice to see the same faces every week and talk about how the market is doing.
