You can find us at unit 102 in the Hadapsar Industrial Estate, not too far from the Koregaon Park side. Being in an industrial area means most of our customers are people working in the factories and workshops nearby. They want a quick, filling veg meal before they head back to their shifts. We don't have any fancy decor. The tables are sturdy and we keep the water cold. I get here early to start the dal and rice. My wife helps with the vegetable cleaning. It’s a family effort really. The estate can be quite dusty, so we are always wiping down the front. We keep the menu simple because people don't have much time for lunch. It’s honest work. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to manage with what we have. We aren't trying to be a five-star place. Just Joy Food. People come in, have their plate, and head out. We’ve been in this 102 spot for a few years now. The morning tea time is usually the busiest. We just keep doing what we do every day. No big plans, just keeping the stove running and the customers fed. It's not a glamorous job but it pays the bills. Sometimes we run out of special dishes by 2 PM if the crowd is big. We just hope people leave with a full stomach.
