Jogdand Sound Services is located at 537 Model House Street, right off Tilak Road. If you’ve ever walked down this way, you’ve probably seen our shop with all the speakers and black boxes piled up inside. We spend a lot of our time untangling cables and testing out microphones to make sure everything is working right. It’s a messy business because there’s always a piece of equipment that needs a new fuse or a speaker that needs to be re-wired. Tilak Road is always loud with traffic, so we usually have to turn the volume up just to hear what we’re testing. We aren't a big fancy company with a showroom; it’s more of a workshop where we keep our gear ready for whoever needs it. During the festival season or when there’s a big wedding nearby, the place gets absolutely chaotic. We’re constantly loading and unloading heavy amplifiers from the back of the van. Sometimes we forget to put things back in the right place, so it takes a minute to find a specific connector or a stand when we’re in a hurry. We don't have any scripted sales pitch or anything like that. We just talk to people about what they need for their event and try to get the gear over there on time. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and late nights, especially when we have to pack up everything after a show is over and everyone else has gone home.
