Jayawantrao Sawant College Of Engineering

Our college is at S No 58 in Indrayani Nagar, right off Handewadi Road in Hadapsar. It’s an area that has changed quite a bit since we first set up. The campus has a lot of open space, which is nice, though the sun can be quite strong in the afternoons. We have different blocks for the engineering departments. The workshops have that heavy smell of metal and grease, which is normal for a place like this. We have a lot of students who live nearby and others who take the bus every morning. The library is one of the bigger rooms, and it stays mostly quiet, except during the weeks leading up to exams. We don't have any slogans or big banners everywhere. It’s a practical environment. The labs have computers and machines that get worked on every single day. Some of the benches in the common areas are a bit worn out, but they serve their purpose. We have a canteen that serves the usual snacks and meals. It’s the main spot for students to hang out between their lectures. The teaching staff are regular people who know their subjects well. We don't try to be something we aren't. It is just a place where people come to get their degrees and move on to their next steps in life. It keeps us busy, and there’s always something that needs fixing or organizing.
