Jawahar Pan Merchants

Being in Shukrawar Peth 17 means we are right in the heart of things. Jawahar Pan Merchants isn't just a place to buy a single pan; we handle a lot of stuff here. It gets really busy on market days. The street is narrow and there are always delivery trucks trying to get past. We’ve had this spot for a long time. The floor is made of old stone and it stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. I spend a good chunk of my day talking to suppliers and checking the quality of the leaves we get in. If the leaves aren't good, the customers will know right away. We have some heavy jars that have been here since my father's time. They are solid and hold a lot. I don’t really use a computer for anything, I just keep track of everything in a ledger. Sometimes the dust from the street gets in, so I’m always wiping down the counter. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day. My back aches a bit when I finally close the shutters. But then I see the same people coming back the next morning and it feels worth it. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just a reliable one that's been part of the neighborhood for years. Most people know our name by now and they stop by whenever they are in this area of the city.
