Down at Survey No-1194/95 on the Pune Saswad Road, you can find our cold storage facility. We are located at Post Vadki in Taluka Haveli. It’s a massive building because you need a lot of space to keep things at the right temperature. Most of the time, we are busy with trucks coming in and out, bringing produce that needs to be kept cold so it doesn't spoil. It’s a different kind of job because you’re constantly moving between the hot sun outside and the freezing temperatures inside the units. We all wear heavy jackets even when it’s forty degrees outside. The machinery that keeps the cooling going is loud, and we have to keep a close eye on the gauges all day and night. If the power goes out, we have to scramble to get the generators running quickly. It’s not a glamorous job, and there’s always something that needs fixing or cleaning. We don’t have a marketing team to tell people how great we are. We just focus on making sure the temperature stays where it should be. The traffic on Pune Saswad Road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we try to get most of our loading done early in the morning. It’s a lot of manual labor and checking lists over and over. That is just how things go for us here in Vadki. We keep things running as best as we can.
