Jagriti School For Blind Girls

Our school is situated on Markal Road in Alandi Devachi, which is on the outskirts of Pune. It’s a quiet area, which suits the work we do here. We focus on providing education and a place to stay for blind girls. The building is designed to be easy for our students to navigate. It isn't a modern architectural marvel, but it is a safe and functional home and school. We have classrooms where the girls learn their lessons and common areas where they spend their free time. The staff here are like a big family. We have been doing this for a long time and we understand the needs of our students. Daily life is quite structured with classes, meals, and activities. We don't have a big corporate office running things; it’s just us on the ground every day. The surroundings are mostly peaceful, away from the heavy city traffic. Sometimes we have visitors or volunteers who come to help out. We appreciate the support, but we mostly just focus on the girls and their growth. It’s a very grounded place. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about teaching and giving these girls a chance to learn skills. We deal with the usual problems like plumbing issues or keeping the garden tidy. It’s our small community in Alandi, and we are proud of the girls and everything they manage to achieve while they are here.
