About Homemade Chocolates – Food & Beverages in Pune
The kitchen here at Shivaji Nagar Sachin G I D C 101 is usually smelling like cocoa from the moment we open the doors. It’s not a big factory or anything like that. Just a few of us working around the big table in the middle of the room. We spend a lot of time melting down the blocks and pouring them into the different molds we have on the shelves. Sometimes the temperature in the room gets a bit too high and we have to wait for things to cool down properly before we can pack them into the boxes. It can be a slow process when you’re doing it all by hand. We have piles of gold and silver foil everywhere. You wouldn't believe how much scrap paper we go through in a week. My hands are almost always stained a bit brown by the time I head home. People from the nearby offices sometimes drop by Homemade Chocolates to pick up a box for a birthday or just to have something sweet for their tea break. We keep the address simple because everyone around here knows where the G I D C area is anyway. It gets quite busy around the holidays, which means we stay late into the night. We just keep the radio playing and keep wrapping. It’s just us making stuff that people seem to like eating. We don't use any fancy machines, just our own hands and some patience.
