Harsh Jaggery Seller

We are set up at Survey No. 119 on Mali Farm Road in Walhekarwadi. This part of Chinchwad is quite busy, especially because we are near Prerna School. When the school bell rings, the whole road fills up with parents and kids, so we usually try to get our big deliveries done before that happens. Harsh Jaggery Seller is a pretty basic operation. We have stacks of jaggery blocks piled up, and the smell of the sugar is quite strong when you walk in. The building is more like a large storeroom than a shop. We spend a lot of time weighing out portions for people who stop by on their way home. The floors are a bit uneven, and we use old-fashioned scales for some of our work. It is a family-run kind of thing, so you might see one of us sitting outside on a plastic chair during a break. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations, just some calendars on the wall and a small light over the desk. The dust from the farm road settles on everything, so we are constantly wiping down the counter. It is honest work and keeps us busy throughout the year, especially during the festivals when everyone wants jaggery for their sweets. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we are here by the Prerna School and stop by when they need some stock.
