We spend most of our time here making bags. We are over here in Hadapsar, in Galli No. 10B. It is a bit tucked away in Handewadisayyed Nagar but people find us eventually. We handle a lot of stitching and raw material every single day. The workshop gets a bit loud with the machines going all afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out but we just wait it out and start again once it's back. It is a family thing mostly. We started small with just a few sewing machines and now the room is pretty full of fabric rolls and thread. You see all kinds of colors piling up in the corners. My brother handles the cutting while I look after the orders. It’s not fancy work, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. The neighborhood knows us for being here for a while now. We don't really do big advertising or anything like that. People just walk in or call if they need a bag made for something specific. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to move the stock around because of the narrow lanes. But we manage. There is always tea around four o'clock for everyone. It’s a simple setup. We focus on getting the zippers right and making sure the straps don't break. That is what we do here in the lane. It’s just us working hard every day to make ends meet and keep the shop running like it should. We are glad for the work we have and the people who come back.
