Gruhini Khadya Udyog

Our business is based in Flat No.304 of the Rajnigandha Apartments, which is right in the Kranti Chowk area of Navi Sangvi. It’s a bit unusual running a food business like Gruhini Khadya Udyog from an apartment, but it works for us. We are near Sai Chowk and Mulshi, so there’s always people moving around the building. The kitchen is the heart of everything we do. We spend hours every day prepping ingredients and making sure everything is cooked just right. Since we are in a residential building, we have to be careful about not making too much noise or blocking the hallways with our supplies. It’s a tight squeeze sometimes when a fresh delivery of grains or vegetables arrives. My sisters help me with the cooking and the packing, and we often sit around the table in the evening to get the labeling done. The living room is mostly filled with boxes ready to go out. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes to keep the home life and the work life separate, but they usually just bleed into each other. We don't have a storefront, so most people just know us through word of mouth or by seeing us carry bags to the lift. It’s hard work, but being in our own space makes it feel less like a chore. We just take it one day at a time here in the apartment. It works well.
