Ganesh Caterers

Ganesh Caterers is tucked away at Matoshri Niwas, which is Srno 2/85. We are located right behind Netaji High School in the Navi Khadki area, near the Talim in Yerawada. It’s a bit deep in the narrow lanes, so you really have to look for the school building to find us. Our workspace is part of the house, really. We’ve converted the back area into a large kitchen for our catering work. There’s almost always a big pot of tea going for the workers during the day. We do a lot of catering for local school events and small neighborhood gatherings. It’s a lot of work getting the timing right so the food stays hot for the guests. We don't have a big delivery fleet, just a couple of small tempos that we use to move our pots and food around the city. The area near the Talim is always lively, so there’s never a dull moment outside our door. We’ve been doing this for many years, starting out very small and slowly getting more equipment as we went along. It’s a very hands-on business. I spend more time in the hot kitchen than I do anywhere else. We don't have any fancy titles or a management structure here. We just all pitch in and get the cooking done. Sometimes we’re up all night if there’s a big breakfast order. It’s tiring, but we’re used to the rhythm of the work.
