Fountain Family Rest

Our place is right on Jangali Maharaj Road, which most people in Pune just call J.M. Road. We are in Shivaji Nagar, near the big Shivaji Statue and the Aaj Ka Anand building. It is one of the busiest streets you can find, and the energy outside never really stops. Being at Survey No 364/65, we have a front-row seat to all the traffic and the people walking by. The restaurant has been a part of this landscape for a while. We don't have fancy leather menus or a host in a suit. It is a family place, and it looks like one. Sometimes the floor is a bit scuffed from all the feet moving through, and the fans are always spinning to keep the Pune heat away. We start our prep work early, getting the tables wiped down and the kitchen fired up. Shivaji Nagar is a hub for students and office folks, so we see everyone from young kids to old men who have lived here their whole lives. It gets quite noisy during the festivals when the processions go down the road. We usually just stand at the door for a minute to watch before going back to work. There is no corporate manual here telling us how to smile or what to say. We just treat people like neighbors who walked in. It is a practical spot for a meal, nothing more and nothing less. We just keep things moving.
