Down here in Hadapsar, we run Food Man. It’s just a small place, nothing like those big chains you see in the malls. We’ve been here for a bit now, just handling the daily orders and making sure things are moving along. The kitchen gets pretty hot, especially in the middle of the afternoon when the sun is hitting the building. We don’t have a massive menu, just the stuff we know how to make well. Most of our day is spent prepping ingredients and keeping the workspace from getting too cluttered. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we know. We get a mix of people coming through—workers on their lunch break, families looking for something quick, and students. Hadapsar is always moving, so there’s always something going on outside our window. We don’t have a fancy dining area, just a few spots where you can grab your food and go. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on the cooking than the decor. It’s just a few of us working together, trying to keep up with the rush when it happens. We don’t use any complicated systems, just a pen and paper mostly. It’s a bit old-fashioned, I guess, but it works for us. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the lights go off.
