Durvankur Mangal Karyalay

This place is located in Dhanakawadi, right near the post office. It’s an old family spot, Joshi Wada, and we’ve been hosting functions here for quite some time. Laxmi Road is always a bit chaotic with traffic and people, so getting guests into the hall can be a bit of a project sometimes. The building has that traditional look you find in this part of Pune. We have the main hall where the ceremonies happen and some side rooms for the families to get ready. It gets really loud during the wedding season. You can hear the drums and the singing from blocks away. We try to keep things organized, but weddings are naturally a bit messy. Someone is always losing their keys or asking for more chairs at the last minute. We just go with the flow and try to help out where we can. The fans are always running at full speed because it gets stuffy with so many people inside. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just me and a few local workers who handle the gates and the cleaning. After a big event, we’re usually exhausted, but then another one starts the next morning. It’s a cycle that we’ve grown used to. The post office next door is a good landmark for people who get lost trying to find us. We aren't fancy, but we provide a place for people to celebrate together.
