Durvankur Dining Hall

Sadashiv Peth is a busy part of Pune and we fit right in on Tilak Road. The building, 1166 Ganesh Krupa, has been around for a long time. People know us for being a regular dining hall where you just sit and eat your meal without a lot of fuss. We don't have those fancy soft chairs or dim lighting. It’s bright, loud, and smells like food all day long. Lunchtime is usually the craziest part of the day. You’ll see students, office workers, and older people who have lived in the Peth their whole lives all sitting at the same tables. We have a routine for how we serve the food, and if we get out of sync, the whole kitchen feels it. The staff is mostly guys who have moved here from their villages to work. We all eat together once the main rush is over. Sometimes the plumbing acts up because it’s an old place, or we have to fix a fan that started making a clicking noise. It’s just regular maintenance that never ends. We aren't trying to be the most modern place in Pune. We just want to make sure the food is ready on time and that there’s enough for everyone who walks through the door. It’s a lot of work but it’s what we know how to do best. We see a lot of the same people every single week and it feels like home.
