D G Opticals is located at 338 Rasta Peth, right near the Rupee Bank. Our shop is a bit small but we have shelves lined with all kinds of frames. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for the sound of the traffic outside on the main road. We spend our time helping people try on glasses and making sure the lenses are right. It’s a lot of fine work, especially when we are adjusting the frames to fit someone’s face properly. We have a small mirror on the counter and a few chairs for when it gets busy. The lighting inside is bright so people can see the different colors of the frames clearly. Sometimes people come in just for a quick repair, like a loose screw or a bent arm on their glasses. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us in the shop from morning until we close up at night. We’ve seen a lot of people from the Rasta Peth neighborhood over the years. It’s a simple business where we just focus on the eyewear and making sure the prescriptions are handled correctly. Most of our day is spent cleaning glass and organizing the display cases so everything looks decent. It's a steady pace and we like being part of the local community here. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work on the spectacles.
