Cafe Canada Restaurant

Cafe Canada Restaurant is at 210 Mangalwar Peth in Pune, right near the RTO Office and Juna Bazar. This part of Pune, the 411011 area, is always packed with people doing their errands at the government offices or looking through the market. Because of where we are, we get a lot of people who are just passing through and need a quick place to sit down. We start our day by hauling in the fresh produce and getting the stoves going. It’s a lot of heat in the kitchen, especially in the summer months. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, it’s just us doing the cooking and the cleaning. The building is a bit old, so there’s always something that needs a bit of fixing, like a leaky tap or a door that squeaks. We spend a lot of time just keeping the place tidy. The tables are standard and we don't bother much with decorations. Most of the work is just practical stuff like making sure the fridge stays at the right temperature and the accounts are mostly balanced at the end of the shift. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes, but we are used to it. We just open the doors, serve whoever comes in, and try to get everything ready for the next day before we head home ourselves. It’s a simple business model that revolves around long hours and lots of coffee.
