People often ask about the name, but it was just a typo when we made the first sign and it stuck. We are located in Karve Nagar, inside Konark Vihar Society at number 9. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main roads. I spend most of my day behind the counter making tea and coffee. We have a small seating area where students from the nearby hostels come to hang out. They usually stay for hours over one cup of coffee, but we don’t mind. It makes the place feel alive. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, and the chairs don’t all match, but it feels like home to us. We serve basic snacks too, like sandwiches that we grill on a small press. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles, which the kids think is romantic, but it’s just a hassle for us. We don't have a big menu. Just what we know how to make well. It works. It's mostly me and one other guy running things. We clean up every night after the last person leaves. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like talking to the neighbors and seeing the same faces. Karve Nagar has changed a lot, but this corner stays pretty much the same. We just keep the doors open and see who walks in.
