Our little shop is right in the middle of New Nana Peth, specifically at Shop No 786 on Bhawani Peth Road. If you know Pune, you know how crowded this area gets. We are very close to the old Nishat Theatre. On the days when a popular movie is playing, the whole street is packed with people and motorbikes. It can get pretty loud, but that is just the energy of the Peth. I’ve been working here for years now. The restaurant isn't very big, so we have to be very organized with how we use the space. The kitchen is always hot, and the smell of spices usually drifts out onto the sidewalk. We get our supplies from the market nearby every morning. It is a lot of walking back and forth. My family has lived in Pune for a long time, so we have deep roots here. We don't do any of that fancy advertising you see online. Our customers are mostly people who work in the shops nearby or folks coming from the theatre who want a quick bite. We keep the tables wiped down and the water jars full. It is hard work, and my back usually aches by the end of the night, but it is a good kind of tired. We just try to provide what we can to the community in Nana Peth. It is a humble spot, but it is ours and we enjoy the daily grind.
