Our shop is at 682 Vrudashram Road, over in the Ramdas Nagar area of Camp. Most people around here just know us for the snacks we make. We’ve been at this for a long time, and the smell of frying potatoes is pretty much part of the neighborhood now. It’s a family-style operation, even if we have some extra hands to help with the packing. We spend hours every day peeling, slicing, and getting things into the oil. The big metal tins are always around, filled with different kinds of wafers. It’s not a high-tech factory; it’s more of a traditional workshop where we do things by hand. The floor can get a bit oily and it’s always warm from the fryers, but that’s just how it is. We see the same faces coming in every week to get their supply. Some people have been buying from us since they were kids. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy packaging. We just put the stuff in bags and seal them up. Sometimes the batches vary a little depending on the potatoes we get from the market that morning. We just try to keep things the same so people know what they’re getting when they walk in. It’s a lot of standing on our feet and dealing with the heat, but we’ve been doing it so long we don’t think much about it. It keeps us out of trouble.
