Bhima Sugar Factory

We are located in Madhukar Nagar over in Patas Daund. Being near the Pune Solapur National Highway means there is always a lot of noise and movement. You can hear the big trucks rumble past all day and night. The factory itself is a big complex with lots of pipes and heavy machinery. It is not the cleanest place in the world but it is a factory so that is expected. We deal with a lot of heat and steam throughout the day. The workers here are a tough bunch who do not mind the hard work. We have a small canteen where everyone gathers during breaks to eat and talk. It is a real community here in Patas. We do not have a corporate office in some city. We are right here where the work happens. The dust from the highway settles on everything so we are always wiping down the desks. It is a busy life and the factory never really seems to sleep. We follow the rhythm of the sugar cycles which dictates when we are busy. The big iron gates at the entrance have a heavy chain that we rattle every morning when we open up. We have got a small office with a window that looks out over the loading bay so we can see what is going on. We just focus on the next ton of cane and the next bag of sugar.
