Aware Maratha Khanawal

Aware Maratha Khanawal has been sitting here on Kumthekar Road for quite some time. We are right in Sadashiv Peth, not far from Dyanprobhodhini School. Pune is a city that loves its traditional food, and we just try to provide that in a way that feels like home. It’s a Maratha style kitchen, so things are done the way they’ve been done for years. We don’t use any modern tricks or fancy equipment. The space is a bit cramped, especially during the afternoon when students and office workers come in for a quick meal. Our address is Survey No 536, and it’s a busy spot. You’ll hear the sounds of the road and the school bells while you eat. We don’t have a big staff, just enough of us to keep the pots stirring and the plates moving. The floor is old and the paint is peeling in some corners, but we care more about the kitchen being clean. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming here since they were kids. We don't bother with menus that change every week. We stick to what we know. It’s a simple khanawal in the heart of Sadashiv Peth. If you’re walking near the school, you’ll probably see our small entrance. We are just here doing our job every day. It is a humble place but we like it that way. We make sure the ingredients are fresh every morning.
