Assal Kolhapuri Veg Non Veg is our little restaurant on L B S Road in Sadashiv Peth. We are right across from Happy House, which is a landmark most people in this part of Pune know. We do Kolhapuri style cooking, so things can get a bit spicy around here. It’s a very local kind of place, nothing like the big restaurants you find in the malls. We have a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and we try to keep the flavors the way they are supposed to be. The dining area is quite small and the tables are close together, so it gets pretty lively during dinner time. We don't have a professional decorator; we just put up what we needed and started cooking. The people who work here are just regular folks from the neighborhood. Sadashiv Peth is a busy area with lots of narrow lanes and old buildings, so we fit right in. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the day is busier than we expected, but that’s just how it goes with fresh food. We aren't interested in being a big chain. We just like serving the people who live and work around L B S Road. It’s an honest living, and we just try to do right by the food we put on the plates every single day. If you don't mind a bit of a wait and some heat in your food, we're usually here until late at night.
