Arihant Plastics is right in the middle of Shukrawar Peth, specifically at number 525. If you know the area, you know how tight the streets are. Our place is basically filled to the ceiling with plastic goods. We have crates, buckets, tubs, and all sorts of household items made of plastic. It’s a lot of lifting and moving things around. When a delivery truck arrives, it’s a total mess because we have to block the road for a bit to unload everything. People shout at us to move, but there’s only so much we can do. I’ve worked here since I was a teenager. The smell of new plastic is something I don't even notice anymore, though visitors always comment on it. We don't have a fancy display window. We just stack things where they fit. Sometimes I have to climb up a ladder to get a specific color of bucket that a customer wants from the very top. It’s dusty work and by the end of the day, my back usually hurts from all the bending. We aren't doing any big advertising. People know we have the stuff they need for their homes or businesses, so they just show up. We sit on small stools near the entrance and wait for the next person to come by. It’s a simple life and it keeps us busy enough to not worry about much else besides the daily inventory.
