Anand Impex

Our office is located at 518 Sadashiv Peth, which is a part of town that’s always bustling with people and scooters. If you know this area, you know how crowded the lanes can get, especially in the afternoons. Anand Impex isn't a massive operation with hundreds of employees. It’s mostly just a few of us sitting at desks covered in paperwork, invoices, and old ledgers. We handle a lot of importing and exporting, which sounds more exciting than it actually is. Most of our day is spent on the phone talking to suppliers or checking on where a particular shipment has ended up. We’ve been in this same spot for years, and the walls are starting to show their age a bit. We don't have any shiny signs or a lobby where you wait. You just walk in and see us working. Sometimes the internet goes out or the tea guy is late, and those are the things we talk about. We deal with all sorts of goods, and every day brings a different kind of logistical problem to solve. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big corporate talk or polished brochures. We just want to make sure the crates get to the right place and the numbers on the sheets match up at the end of the month. It's a lot of mundane work, but it's what we know how to do. We usually close up once the street lights come on and the traffic starts to thin out.
