Anand Caterers

You can find us over at 170/171 Kirad Lane in Bhavani Peth. We are right near Jagdamba Transport. It’s a busy part of the city with lots of trucks and noise all day long. Anand Caterers has been in this spot for a long time. The building is old, and we’ve taken up two units to fit all our stuff. We have big stoves and massive tawas for making rotis. It’s a very loud environment, especially when the staff is all working at once. We do a lot of catering for local festivals and community events. It’s hard to keep everything clean with all the soot from the fires, but we try our best. I spend most of my day sitting at the small desk near the entrance, taking orders and writing things down in a ledger. We don’t use computers for any of this. It’s just pen and paper. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come by to see what we’re cooking. It’s a friendly enough place. We don’t have any big signs or fancy decorations outside. People just know where we are. If you need food for fifty or five hundred people, we just adjust the quantities and get to work. It’s a lot of lifting heavy bags of rice and flour. We are just regular people doing a regular job, nothing special about it. We just keep the fires going and the food moving out the door.
