We are over at number 23 in Ghorpuri Bazar here in Pune. Being right in the middle of the bazar means it is always noisy and full of life outside our doors. We’ve been working as chartered accountants in this same spot for a long time. It’s a traditional kind of office, not one of those glass-and-steel places. We have a lot of regular clients who have been coming to us for their taxes and accounts since we first opened. The space is filled with stacks of ledgers and folders, which is just how we like it. It feels like real work is getting done. We don't have a website with fancy graphics; we just prefer people to come in and sit down with us. Ghorpuri is a great place to be because everything you need is just a few steps away. We usually have tea brought in from the stall down the street while we go over the numbers. It’s a small operation, and we don't have a lot of staff. Just a couple of us who know the rules and how to handle the filings. We don't make big promises or use marketing talk. We just do the accounting work that people need. Sometimes we stay late when it’s tax season, and you can see our lights on from the street. It’s just how it goes for a small local firm like ours in Pune. We just keep our heads down and finish the paperwork every day.
