Agarwal Fire Works

Agarwal Fire Works is a shop located in Narayan Peth at 1596 1. It’s a small, old-fashioned place in one of the older parts of the city. We have boxes stacked high with all kinds of crackers and sparklers. The air in the shop always smells a bit like paper and dry powder. It’s very quiet during most of the year, and we just spend our time keeping things organized and dry. But when festival season comes around, this whole street gets incredibly crowded. We have to be very careful with how we handle everything. No smoking allowed anywhere near the door, obviously. We don't have a lot of space, so it can feel a bit tight when there are more than three customers inside. The shelves are made of wood and have been there for ages. We use a small desk to do all our billing by hand. Sometimes the lights flicker when the neighbors use heavy machinery, but we’re used to it. Narayan Peth is a maze of narrow lanes, so finding us for the first time can be a bit of a challenge. We don't do any big promotions. We just open the shutters and wait for the kids and families to come in for their supplies. It’s a seasonal rhythm that we’ve followed for years now. We like the tradition of it all, even if it gets a bit hectic.
