We’ve been running A To Z Catering Services out of Fathima Nagar in Panchwati for a good while. Our kitchen is usually a pretty chaotic place, especially on weekend mornings. There’s always someone chopping vegetables or checking on a big pot of rice. It gets really hot in there with the stoves going, but that’s just how it is in this business. We handle weddings, small parties, and sometimes just local gatherings. We don’t have a fancy office where you sit on leather chairs. Usually, if you come to talk to us, we’re in our aprons and there’s flour on the floor. We use big stainless steel pots and heavy burners. The smells of spices and frying onions are part of the building now. We source our stuff from the local markets around Panchwati. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving crates of food and big containers of water. Our staff are mostly local people who know how we like things done. We don’t do any of those trendy food displays you see online. We just make sure there’s enough for everyone and that it tastes like it’s supposed to. It’s a tiring job, standing all day and then cleaning up late at night. But we’ve been doing it so long it’s just second nature to us. We just keep the stoves burning and the orders moving. We keep the pots full.
