L & L Brothers

We are tucked away at No:148 on Car Street in Pilaspet. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets during the festival times. The building is older, but it stays cool inside even when the sun is hitting the street hard. My brother and I have been running things here for a good bit of time now. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of guys who help with the lifting and the deliveries. Most days start with opening the shutters and letting some air in. The shelves are filled with all sorts of things we’ve collected over the months. We don't really throw much away if we think it might be useful later. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific item, but we usually get there. The counter is where we spend most of our time, talking to folks who come in and keeping track of the sales in a notebook. We don't bother with fancy computers because the power goes out sometimes anyway. It is simpler to just use a pen. We have a small back room where we keep the heavier stock. It’s a bit cramped, but we make it work. Most of the neighbors stop by just to say hello or have a quick chat. It feels like a small community even though the city is growing all around us. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
