Ss Earth Movers

We’ve been here at 59, Melauda Street for a while now. Karuvinatham is a quiet place usually, but with the earth movers, it gets a bit busy. It's just a small team of us working here at Ss Earth Movers. Most days we are out on sites digging or moving dirt for people around the neighborhood. It's dusty work, and the machines need a lot of looking after to keep them running right. My cousin helps with the paperwork sometimes when it gets too much for me to handle alone. We don't have a big fancy office, just the yard where we keep the backhoes and the loaders. People usually just drop by if they need something moved or a bit of land cleared. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when the rain turns everything into a mud pit, but we manage. We’ve known most of the folks around here for years. It's not the cleanest job in the world, you get grease on everything you touch, but it pays the bills. We try to keep the machines in good shape so they don't break down halfway through a job. Usually, the day starts early before the sun gets too hot. We grab a tea, check the oil levels, and then head out to wherever we're needed. It is a straightforward way to live, just moving earth from one spot to another and making sure the equipment is ready for the next day's task.
