L E Chalet

Out here on Abishikapaakm Road in Thavalakuppam, things move a bit slower than they do in the main city. L E Chalet is located at number 574, and it is the kind of place where you can actually hear the birds in the morning before the traffic starts picking up. The building has been part of this stretch for some time, and we spend a lot of our morning sweeping the front area and making sure everything is tidy for whoever is staying with us. It’s a practical setup, nothing too flashy or complicated. Guests come and go, some staying for just a night while they pass through Thavalakuppam, and others sticking around for a bit longer. We spend a lot of time dealing with the usual house stuff, like fixing leaky taps or making sure the linens are clean and ready. The road outside can get a bit dusty when the wind blows, but inside it stays fairly quiet. We don't have a big staff in suits; it is just a few of us making sure the rooms are okay and the gates are locked at night. Sometimes we sit out front in the evening when the sun goes down and chat with the people living nearby. It is a simple way of running a place, focusing on the basics of having a roof over your head and a decent bed to sleep in while you are away from home.
