Royal Plastics

If you head down Kamaraj Saalai in Poornakuppam Village, you’ll find Royal Plastics at number 33/6. We are located in Thavalakuppam, which is a quiet enough place most of the time. We make and sell plastic items, mostly for local use. Our workshop has a few old machines that make a lot of noise when they’re running. We’ve thought about getting new ones, but these still work fine if you know how to kick them in the right spot. The village is small, so everyone knows who we are. We don't do any big advertising. Usually, someone just walks in through the open gate and asks if we have any chairs or storage bins in stock. We keep a bit of everything in the warehouse. It’s hot in there during the summer, so we usually take long breaks in the afternoon and work later into the evening when it’s cooler. My brother and I run the show, and we have a few local boys who help with the heavy lifting and the deliveries. We use a small tempo to move stuff around the village and into the nearby towns. It’s not a huge operation, but it keeps us going. The road outside is paved now, which makes things easier than it used to be when it was all dirt and mud. We just keep our heads down and do the work as best as we can.
