Dr.Chef Damu

Dr.Chef Damu is located on Rangapillai Street in Pondicherry. It's right near the Pazhamudhir Nilayam, which most locals know well. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now. The kitchen keeps us busy most of the day. It’s not a very big place, just enough room to get the cooking done and serve the people who come in. We focus on the food more than the decor. You’ll see us working away if you peek inside. The street gets quite crowded during the day, especially with the shops nearby. We started this because we liked cooking and wanted a place of our own in the city. It’s simple work, but it keeps the lights on. We get a mix of people, some tourists but mostly folks who live nearby. Sometimes we run out of things early if it's a busy Tuesday. That’s just how it goes here. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It's just us and a few helpers. The address is number 17, and it's easy to find if you are walking down the main stretch. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but we’re still here doing our thing. It's just a regular eatery for regular people. No fuss, no fancy stuff, just meals. We try to keep the prices fair so anyone can stop in for a bite without thinking too hard about it.
