Celines Kitchen

Celines Kitchen is situated at No 4 Rue Du Bazaar Saint Laurvnt in White Town. It is right on the Main Beach Road in Pondicherry. If you walk along the promenade, you will find us easily. We are just opposite the guest house in White Town. The street is quite narrow and has that old French style that everyone likes about this part of the city. We do most of the cooking right here in the back. It is not a huge operation, just a kitchen where we make things fresh. The salt air from the beach is always there. Sometimes it makes the metal rust faster, so we are always painting or fixing something. We get a lot of tourists because of the location, but we have local friends who stop by too. The kitchen can get quite hot in the summer, but we are used to it by now. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big menu with pictures. It is just whatever is good that day. White Town is a quiet place usually, except for the weekends when everyone arrives from Chennai or Bangalore. We keep the place open and just focus on getting the plates out. It’s a nice enough way to make a living.
