Kureshi Bettery & Electric Works

The shop is right on Rani Kenpura Road, and you can usually tell where we are by the stacks of old battery casings sitting out front. It is a bit of a greasy job, dealing with acid and heavy lead all day, but someone has to do it. We spend a lot of time testing voltages and cleaning off terminals that have gotten all crusty over time. If a tractor or a car will not start, people usually bring the battery over here to see if it still has any life left in it. We also handle basic electric work, like fixing ceiling fans or checking wires that have shorted out in a house. The shop isn't much to look at, just some heavy wooden shelves and a workbench that has seen better days. It gets very hot in the afternoons, especially when we have all the chargers running at once, so we keep the fan going full speed. Sometimes the road outside gets noisy with all the trucks passing by, but we just keep our heads down and finish the job. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know our way around a multimeter and a heavy wrench. We have been at this location for years, and most of the locals around Kenpura Road know they can find us here from morning until the sun goes down. It is steady work and it keeps us busy enough.
