Godhan Masala Foods Pvt Ltd is based at B-64 in the Lawrence Road Industrial Area. This part of town is all about business and manufacturing, so there are always trucks idling outside and the sound of machinery from the neighboring units. Our space is mostly taken up by the grinding machines and the packing lines. It gets quite loud during the day when everything is running at once. The air inside always has a bit of a kick to it because of the spices being processed. You get used to the sneezing after a week or two. We have a small office section partitioned off with some glass, but even there, you can feel the vibration of the floor. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and safety charts. The workers here are mostly locals who have been with us for years. We spend the mornings checking the raw grains and dried peppers before they go into the hoppers. Lunch is usually eaten together in the small break area out back. Lawrence Road is a busy place, and it can be a struggle to get deliveries in and out through the narrow gates, but we make it work. It is a gritty, hardworking environment and we don't try to pretend it is anything else. We just focus on getting the bags filled and the pallets loaded onto the trucks every single day.
