Our place is located at G-20 in the Industrial Area on Lawrence Road. Since it is an industrial zone, the whole area is filled with factories and warehouses. Bawa Masala Co Pvt Ltd is one of those spots where you can usually smell what we are doing before you even see the sign. We have a big space for the grinding machines and the packing area. It’s a noisy environment because the heavy equipment runs for most of the day. The floors are concrete and there is always a bit of dust in the air from the spices being processed. We have big trucks coming into the yard to drop off raw materials and others leaving with the finished bags. It is a very busy operation with people moving around constantly. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a small corner with a couple of desks and a phone that rings quite a lot. Most of our day is spent making sure the machines are working right and the workers have what they need. It gets pretty hot during the summer months with all the machinery running, but that is just part of the job here. Lawrence Road is always full of traffic, so getting things in and out takes some planning. It is a hardworking environment where we just get the job done without any fuss. The evening shift usually wraps up around seven when the sun goes down.
