Sufian Handicrafts has its home at 3136, Gali Susheela Turkman Gate. If you’ve ever walked through Turkman Gate you know how tight the lanes can be and how much history is in the walls. Our place at 3136, Gali Susheela is right in the middle of all that. It is a small space but we make it work for everything we do. There is always a lot of tea being drank and a lot of hands moving over the work. We’ve been here for a long time and the building shows its age a bit but that doesn’t stop us. The light isn’t always great in the alleyway so we have to use some bright lamps to see what we are doing with the small details. People walk past the door all day long and sometimes they peek in to see the crafts we are working on. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we prefer to just do the work and talk to people face to face. Turkman Gate is a noisy place with scooters and vendors but once you step into Gali Susheela things feel a bit more familiar. We just focus on the pieces we are making and try to keep the quality where it needs to be. It’s a simple life in an old part of the city and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just take it one day at a time and keep the craft alive.
