Our place is located in Gali Bherowali, which is right near the Bhairav Mandir. If you've ever been to this part of the city, you know how narrow the lanes are. Shree Ganeshi Lal Om Prakash Sarees Private Limited sits on the first floor, spanning across units 4255 to 4257. It’s an old building with a lot of character. We’ve been here for a long time, and the floorboards sometimes creak when you walk on them. The space is filled with stacks and stacks of sarees. It’s a lot of colors everywhere you look. We don't have a modern showroom with bright lights and mirrors. Instead, we have wooden shelves and old fans that have been running for years. Usually, there are a few of us folding fabric or talking to people who have come from far away to see what we have. It gets very crowded during the wedding season. You have to climb a narrow set of stairs to reach us. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have a lot of stock, but we are used to it. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us because their parents or grandparents used to come here. It’s a family-run kind of thing, even if the name sounds official. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep the shelves full. It’s a lot of hard work. We usually close for lunch for an hour and then stay until the market shuts.
