Ramesh Handicrafts

Our shop is tucked away in Gali Matke Wali, which is right in the thick of Sadar Bazar. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets around here. We’ve been at 5961 for quite some time now, dealing with all sorts of handicrafts. It’s a small space, but we pack a lot into it. Most days are spent unpacking crates or showing items to people who squeeze into the lane. It’s noisy and fast-paced, which is just part of being in this market. We aren't big on fancy displays; the products are usually stacked up where they fit. We handle a lot of different things, mostly small pieces that people like to take home or sell in their own shops. Sometimes it’s hard to find us if you aren't looking for the specific house number, but we’ve been here long enough that the neighbors know us. The work involves a lot of lifting and moving boxes around. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We open early to beat some of the heat and stay until the market starts to quiet down, though Sadar Bazar never really feels quiet. We deal with suppliers and customers all day long, mostly just talking shop and making sure orders get out the door. It’s a tight-knit community in this gali, and we’re just one part of it.
