Parawthe Wala

We are located at Chandni Chowk 36, right in the thick of the old city. If you’ve been to Chandni Chowk, you know how loud and crowded it gets. Our shop is small and we are usually surrounded by people pushing past on the street. We’ve been making parawthe here for a very long time. The griddle is always hot and there’s always a bit of smoke in the air. We don't have fancy menus or air conditioning. Most people just eat standing up or on the few small stools we have. It’s a messy business with all the flour and oil, but we keep at it from morning till night. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny sign. The walls are a bit dark from the soot over the years. We just focus on getting the food out to the people waiting. Sometimes the line gets long and people get a bit impatient, but that’s just how it is in this part of Delhi. We get our supplies from the same vendors we’ve used for decades. It’s a lot of repetitive work, rolling and flipping all day long. We don't try to be anything more than a simple food stall. People come here because they know where we are and they know what they’re getting. It’s just a basic shop in a very busy market.
