I work out of 128 Tis Hazari in the Ps Rathee Block. If you’ve ever been to the courts, you know what a maze it is. It’s always crowded with people in black coats, clerks carrying huge bundles of files, and folks waiting for their hearings. My spot is just a small part of that massive complex. The Rathee Block is always buzzing with activity. There’s a lot of noise from the typewriters and people talking loudly on their phones. The walls are lined with old law books and dusty folders tied with red ribbons. It’s not the most comfortable place, especially when it’s hot and the ceiling fans are just moving the warm air around. I spend most of my day sitting at a desk that has seen better days. There’s usually a stack of papers that never seems to get any smaller. You can hear the calls for cases coming from the corridors. People come and go all the time, asking for directions or looking for specific rooms. Lunch is usually something quick from one of the nearby stalls, eaten while looking over more documents. The light in the room isn't great, but we make do. It’s a very functional, busy environment where everyone is focused on their own business. It's a bit chaotic, but that's just how Tis Hazari is. You get used to the constant movement and the feeling that there’s always something urgent happening around every corner.
