Anil Kumar

I have been working out of Y 29 in the Tis Hazari Civil Wings for quite a while now. It is a busy place, as anyone who has been to the courts knows. My name is Anil Kumar and this is basically where I spend most of my daylight hours. The office is not very big, just enough space for some desks, a few chairs for people to sit on while they wait, and a lot of steel cupboards filled with files. Most days start early because the court crowd starts coming in and the noise levels go up quickly. You can hear people talking in the corridors and the sound of typewriters or printers going off constantly. It is a bit cramped, honestly, but that is how it is here. I usually have tea brought in from the stall downstairs around eleven. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but nobody really looks at the walls when there is so much paperwork to deal with. People come here with all sorts of issues and we try to sort through things one by one. It is not a fancy corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. Just a practical workspace where we get the job done. Sometimes the electricity acts up or it gets too hot in the summer months, but we have some fans going. I have seen the neighborhood change over the years, though the Civil Wings always stay pretty much the same.
