B A Khan

I am based at the New Lawyer Chamber, which is part of the Delhi GPO area. I am in room 332. If you have ever been down to the GPO, you know exactly how hectic it gets. There are people everywhere, postal vans moving in and out, and lots of lawyers rushing around in their black coats. My office is actually quite small. It is mostly just shelves and shelves of law books and thick folders tied up with that traditional red string. There is not a lot of room to move around, but I know where everything is kept. B A Khan is the name on the door, though the lettering is a bit faded now after all these years. I have been in this chamber for a long time. The sounds of the city come right through the windows, mostly horns honking and people shouting in the street below. It is the heart of Delhi, really. I usually start the day with a hot cup of tea from the stall downstairs. Most of my day is spent reading through papers or meeting with people who have various legal troubles to sort out. It is a serious environment, but we try to keep it human and approachable. I do not have a fancy website or a big staff behind me. It is just me and the work. Sometimes the lights flicker when it rains.
