We are located at 1216, Chah Rahat, which is very close to the Jama Masjid. If you are familiar with this part of the city, you know exactly how crowded and narrow these old lanes can get. Arts & Crafts Of India has been part of this neighborhood for a very long time. It is a historic place to work, even if the building is quite old and the stairs are a bit steep and narrow. We spend our days working on traditional crafts. There is a lot of history in the ways we make things, with many techniques being passed down through our families over the years. The atmosphere in this area is always full of energy. You can hear the calls to prayer from the mosque and the general noise of the busy market all day long. Our workshop is tucked away, filled to the brim with tools and various raw materials. It is not a modern or high-tech setup by any stretch. We mostly sit on the floor while we work, as that is how we have always done it. Sometimes the supplies we need arrive late because the rickshaws simply can’t get through the thick crowds in the lane. We don’t really mind the delays. It is just a normal part of living and working in this old neighborhood. We don’t do any fancy advertising or marketing. People usually find us through word of mouth or by wandering into the lane. It's just us doing our best work.
